How we work with clients
To thrive in environments of relentless change, organisations need ways to select and apply the ‘right’ solutions to guarantee success. In response, we see client organisations as ‘living organisms’, with the latent capacity to adapt and thrive to changing operating environments.
Our engagement approach ‘switches on’ the client’s capacity to successfully adapt. It is data driven, agile, iterative, and experiential.
We configure a unique version of the ‘Double Diamond’ Framework for Innovation1 to meet a client’s specific needs and solution type (data, people, technology). This customised approach acts as the ‘evolution process’ for selecting, testing, and launching new ‘adaptations’ (from strategies to apps).
A ‘Sprint-based’ approach to delivery is used. Tangible outputs are delivered at the end of each Sprint. Work is undertaken by mixed-discipline teams of evolv.D and client staff working together to achieve engagement goals.
Finally, we work with client sponsors to ensure strong stakeholder and leader engagement provides the context for success.

Design Principles
Communicate visually and inclusively – Help people gain a shared understanding of the problem and ideas.

Stakeholder Engagement
We use a range of individualised and group techniques to maximise stakeholder engagement.
A key strategy is the use Agile ‘ceremonies’ to actively engage stakeholders in the design process, capture feedback, build trust, and develop relationships.
Leadership and Context
We work with client leaders to actively support design efforts, generate psychological safety for new idea sharing, and role model productive behaviours and mindsets.
We also help leaders to identify and overcome ‘system’ roadblocks, unhelpful behaviours, and change resistance.
Discover
We apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore and identify ideas, challenges and opportunities. We also define the boundaries of the ‘solution space’.
We use research findings to prepare and propose options for new aspirations and draft requirements for guiding Define activities.
Duration: 2-4 weeks
Define
We take the divergent mass of ideas and findings and sift these into a clear focus for action.
We analyse and structure Discover outputs into a reduced set of challenges and opportunities, aligned to organisational needs and business objectives.
We prepare high level strategic initiatives and design briefs for use in Develop.
Duration: 2-4 weeks
Develop
We use initial strategic guidance and design briefs to iteratively develop and refine solutions for possible implementation.
We test prototypes and MVPs with users. We socialise designs and run scenarios with stakeholders. We use feedback to select the critical few solutions and initiatives that matter most for business results.
Duration: 4-8 weeks
Deliver
The best strategies and solutions are taken through final testing, socialisation, and sign off.
Systems to capture user/stakeholder feedback are established. Launch and change plans are prepared and executed.
Deliver captures lessons learned through ‘adaptation loops’. Findings help enhance new design efforts.
